Background
I would like to present the journey of Positive Education at educational context in Chile. I have supported a vast group of schools in Chile (public, private schools and private subsidized) in promoting wellbeing with a whole school approach. In collaboration with a team we have trained educators in positive education (Perma model and character strengths) so they could teach their students and we have supported them in involving parents and families.
Aims
Share with the world a practical experiences on Positive Education in Chile, the challeges, goals, learnings, our next steps in investigation, what went wrong, what went well.
Method
With a team we have validate perma profile and epoch in chile, we have used them with some schools. However, it has been a challenge as we have to be systematic to see the impact of the program. Therefore, Currently, with a team from the University we are working with a measure that includes wellbeing variables (perma- epoch) and also variables of depressions and anxiety . So we could assess one of the program that we have been working to train the educators based on perma model, and we have include contextual variables.
There is also some steps that we have implemented to promote wellbeing, training educators; promoting practical experience so they could live positive education; transfeing to students (teach to the students); embeeding (how they can incorporate in their programas and the chilean curriculum) and evaluation.
Conclusion
The promotion of wellbeing at educational context in Chile has been a challenge, because there are different types of schools and experiences that we would like to share with the world.
