In this panel presentation, we will begin with an exploration of the historical roots of positive psychology coaching. We mark the early trends in positive psychological science and trace how these evolved concurrently with the advent of coaching psychology. We will highlight a number of ways in which positive psychology coaching has evolved, including a trend toward less prescriptiveness, a growing appreciation for positive client experiences, and a more sophisticated blending of so-called positive and negative experiences. We will conclude this panel with a discussion of emerging and future trends in positive psychology coaching. These include an integration with health coaching, the founding of university-based coaching programs, and the use of artificial intelligence.
