Lorraine Gahles-Kildow, PhD
Dr. Lorraine Gahles-Kildow is a Licensed Psychologist in the State of New Jersey. She received her MPhil and PhD from the City University of New York and her M.A. from Long Island University. Her area of expertise is in Cognitive Behavior Therapy. She has been in private practice for 22 years dealing with adults, teenagers and school age children on various issues related to Trauma, PTSD, Compassion Fatigue, Burnout, Depression, Anxiety, OCD, Phobias, Bereavement, Grieving losses, Caregiving, Impulse control, and Anger management. Dr. Gahles-Kildow has also done functional behavioral assessments and therapeutic assistance to parents with young children experiencing anxiety, bed-time problems and temper outbursts. She has taught psychology courses for over 30 years (Infant-Toddler Child Development, Child Development, Adolescence and Early Adulthood, and Development Across the Lifespan). Other courses taught were Intro to Psychology, Social Psychology, Personality Psychology and Psychology in Business and Industry. From 2000-2018 Dr. Gahles-Kildow was also an instructor training Montessori Teachers on Child Development domains and psychological principles for Infant/Toddlers, Elementary School children, and, Middle School children and teens at the Princeton Center for Teacher Education in Princeton, New Jersey. She has incorporated positive psychology interventions into her practice and has written articles and presented seminars for caregivers, healthcare professionals and for self-care in individuals.
