Jill R Nelson
Dr. Jill Nelson is a Professor in the Counseling program at North Dakota State University. Jill has expertise in shame and shame resilience, well-being, and leadership. Dr. Nelson is a recovering academic administrator, having spent 10 years in the dean’s office supporting faculty through mentoring, professional development, and helping faculty to become leaders in their professional lives. She is a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), a Board-Certified Coach (BCC), Certified Daring Way™ and Certified Dare to Lead ™ Facilitator. She facilitates workshops and leadership training using curriculum based on the research of Dr. Brené Brown and provides research-informed keynote addresses on a variety of topics helping people to be their best selves. Dr. Nelson is the brains behind “The People Project”, a worksite well-being initiative founded on principles of Positive Psychology (https://thepeopleproject.org/).
Jill enjoys reading fiction, travelling, and spending time with wholehearted people. She is extremely grateful to spend her days inspiring others to be courageous and authentic in all they do.
